After analyzing the real state of the home production of raw and other materials, a step has been taken to thoroughly ensure the qualitative index by mobilizing the sci-tech force.

From the beginning of the year, the Shoe-making Institute has pushed ahead with the work to localize such various supplementary agents as coating material, printing ink and brightener. The institute recently completed the research into substitute basic materials needed for the production of supplementary agents. It is now stepping up the work to further improve the qualitative indices of those agents.

The Wonsan Leather Shoes Factory established a solvent production process after finishing a research into the localization of solvent with its own effort and technology. The factory is now concentrating efforts on the research for raising the proportion of localization of adhesives substituted for latex, while producing paper insole to lower the shoes production cost.

Meanwhile, other shoe-making factories strive to localize the solvent and adhesives and produce fiber insole with wastes.
