Koreans in Japan Launch Candlelight Struggle
Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- Koreans in Japan held a candlelight rally in Tokyo in demand of Japanese authorities' atonement for the past crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists on March 1, the 102nd anniversary of the March First Popular Uprising.

Peace-loving citizens in Japan joined them.

Speakers there said that they held a rally in commemoration of the March First movement for national independence in Japan to demonstrate their will not to pardon the crimes the Japanese imperialists committed by enforcing their colonial rule over Korea.

They accused the Japanese authorities of getting evermore undisguised in discrimination against Korean students and children in Japan, the direct victims of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule, and their descendents.

They expressed their will to wage a struggle to exact Japan's apology and reparation for the past crimes and the authorities' withdrawal of the discriminative policy against the Korean schools in Japan.

They termed Japan's moves to possess the "ability for attacking enemy base" by taking advantage of escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula "very dangerous ones for making preemptive attack possible."

They called for turning out in the struggle against Japan's moves for reinvasion by carrying forward the spirit of the March First Movement for National Independence.

Holding placards and candles, the participants in the rally called for ensuring peace on the Korean peninsula, strongly urging Japan's atonement for the past crimes.
