Present there were Kim Chun Sik, secretary general of the National Sports Guidance Committee, Kim Jang San, secretary general of the DPRK Football Association, Kim Myong Gun, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, officials in the field of sports and sportspersons.

At the meeting, Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, made a report which was followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said that the sports field faces the task to steadily win more medals at international games as befitting the prestige and position of our dignified state by putting spurs to the development of sports techniques and powerfully promote the socialist construction by further stimulating the sports enthusiasm across the country during the period of the new five-year plan.

They called for positively encouraging the people, who have turned out in the first-year march for implementing the decisions made at the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) by further heightening the sports enthusiasm throughout the country.

They stressed the need to make a positive contribution to making our dignified state ranking among advanced sports countries by certainly making achievements of patriotic loyalty in this year's campaign for implementing the decisions made at the Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.

A resolution was adopted at the meeting.
