Regarding the peasant question as an important one decisive of the victory in the revolution under the conditions that the peasants made up the overwhelming majority of the country's population, the President wisely led the work to form a new-type revolutionary organization of peasants in the early period of the anti-Japanese revolution.

When launching his revolutionary activities in Jilin of China, he conducted a preparatory work to build the revolutionary organization of peasants by dispatching members of the Young Communist League and the Anti-Imperialist Youth League to Xinantun and other rural areas around Jilin.

Under his guidance, those members conducted explanatory works, lectures and art troupe activities among the peasants to enlighten them in the revolutionary idea and thus lay a basis for forming the Peasants Union.

Recalling those days, the President wrote in his reminiscences "With the Century": I stayed in Jilin and conducted the work of organizing the Peasants Union in Xinantun. Uniting the peasants in an organization is the work of preparing them as the motive force of the revolution.

On the basis of such full preparations, he formed the Peasants Union, the first revolutionary organization of peasants in Korea, on March 10, Juche 17 (1928).

The union, with hired and poor peasants as its core, was a mass revolutionary organization involving broad peasant masses who oppose the Japanese imperialists and love the country. Its mission was to defeat the Japanese imperialists and achieve the liberation of Korea and build a new country where the working people have become masters.

With this union formed under the guidance of the President, the peasant movement in Korea could enter a new road of its development.
