Onchon County in Nampho City of the DPRK is a historic place to which the President gave his field guidance one hundred and tens of times till the last period of his life to develop the country's agriculture.

One day in early March Juche 81 (1992), he came to the county to give a task for introducing a new nutritive seedling cultivation method on an experimental basis. There he showed a science film on an advanced method of cultivating seedlings and personally explained about it.

Next day, he dispatched agricultural technicians to the county to help cultivate new seedlings on a sci-tech basis and solve the knotty problems.

In late April next year, he visited a tideland-turned farm field in the county and gave detailed teachings for winding up the rice-transplanting at the right time and applying machines to the farming.

In June 1994, the last period of his great life, he came to a field of the Kumdang Cooperative Farm and discussed the ways for raising the crop yield after acquainting himself with the harvest of the county.

In recent years, the agricultural workers of the county have increased the grain output per hectare and made good results in the work for rich harvest by actively introducing the scientific farming methods.

They are now taking sci-tech measures for the stable and sustainable development of grain production even under any unfavorable climatic conditions and laying a solid material and technical foundation to glorify this year, the first year for the implementation of the new five-year plan, with increased grain production.
