Production Goes Up at Iron Mines of DPRK

Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- Amid the vigorous drive for carrying out the first-year tasks of the new five-year plan?set forth at the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, a production upswing has been made at iron mines of the metallurgical industrial sector of the DPRK. Those iron mines fulfilled their January and February plans, and this month, too, are daily raising the production of iron ore 1.2 times that in the same period of last year. The Musan Mining Complex, a leading iron ore producer of the country, has recorded high results by raising the operation rate of mining, crushing and conveying equipment. It is now conducting the ore dressing as required by technical norms to supply quality concentrated ores to metal factories. Unryul and Jaeryong mines introduced advanced blasting methods to provide new working faces with good prospect while pushing ahead with the production. |
