Iron and Steel Production Goes Up
Pyongyang, March 13 (KCNA) -- The metallurgical industrial sector of the DPRK is making success in the iron and steel production while directing its effort to the readjustment and reinforcement of production foundation.

Iron works and steel plants across the country have pushed ahead with the work to build energy-saving oxygen heat blast furnaces and reinforce rolled steel production foundation.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex is readjusting and reinforcing production processes of the Juche-based iron-making system and strengthening the relations among production processes while working out a realistic plan for introducing dozens of technical innovation designs and taking measures for executing it. The oxygen separating branch factory has increased the oxygen production 1.3 times as against that in the previous period and the oxygen heat blast furnace shop has fulfilled daily, weekly and monthly pig iron production plan.

The Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex is making innovations in the iron and steel production every day while stepping up a huge project for expanding its production capacity.

It is increasing the molten iron production by positively introducing a reasonable operating method while taking measures to timely settle the matters arising in the readjustment and reinforcement of facilities including the oxygen heat blast furnace and oxygen separator.

The steel shop is registering success by steadily searching and introducing methods for cutting the melting time of the UHP electric arc furnace and increasing the molten iron production per charge.

The steel shop, rolling shop and gas producing shop of the Chollima Steel Complex are bringing about good production results every day and the Posan Iron Works in charge of the preceding process is pushing ahead with production in line with the schedule.

Units in charge of the supply of raw materials to iron works and steel plants are guaranteeing the increased iron and steel production by making joint innovations.
