Timber Production Goes Up in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- The revolutionary enthusiasm of the workers in the forestry sector of the DPRK, who have turned out in implementing the tasks set forth at the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, is bringing forth high production.

Some forestry stations and mine pillar production stations finished the timber production quotas for the year or for the first quarter of the year.

The forestry and mine pillar production stations under Ryanggang, South Phyongan and Jagang provincial forestry management bureaus scrupulously mapped out their economic operations and direction to register good results in the winter timber production.

The workers of the Paekja Forestry Station and other units successfully fulfilled this year's plans. And lots of mine pillar production stations have finished their plans for the first quarter of the year ahead of schedule.

Officials and workers in the forestry sector continuously accelerate the timber production while directing efforts to strengthening their own material and technical foundations.
