Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- Since the end of the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, over 1,300 young people in the DPRK have volunteered to work in difficult and labor-consuming fields of the national economy including metal, coal and mining industries and farms. Officials of the youth league have taken the lead in doing so. Kim Yong Min, who had been working at the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the youth league, volunteered to work at a youth subworkteam of the Taean Cooperative Farm in Taegwan County, his home village, true to the high intention of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to completely solve the food problem of the people. Pak Song Rim, an official of the Onsong County Committee of the youth league in North Hamgyong Province, volunteered to work at a branch of the most backward farm in the county. Their good deeds have touched the public and aroused the feelings of loyalty and patriotism among the youth. More than 260 young people volunteered to work in cooperative farms and youth shock brigades in South Hwanghae Province and those in North Hamgyong Province and North Phyongan Province volunteered to work at major industrial establishments, collieries, mines and farms. 80 odd young people in Jagang Province joined the provincial youth shock brigade out of their strong will to do their bit in transforming the province into a socialist fairyland. The number of young volunteers is on the increase. |
