Meritorious Taekwon-Do Instructor

Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- Merited Athlete Kim Yong Hui is an instructor of Pyongyang City Taekwon-Do School in the DPRK. She began to learn Taekwon-Do in Juche 74 (1985) with a desire to add luster to the orthodox martial art of the Korean nation. She, grown as a competent Taekwon-Do player, participated in the Taekwon-Do World Championships four times, including the 5th Taekwon-Do World Championship attended by DPRK women players for the first time, playing a big role for the DPRK team taking the first place. Later, she was active as an instructor at the Pyongyang Schoolchildren's Palace from 1993 and has worked as an instructor at Pyongyang City Taekwon-Do School since 2015, training many excellent Taekwon-Do reserves to contribute to the country's Taekwon-Do development. Among those world Taekwon-do stars trained by her are Pak Mi Hyang and Ri Hyang, who are thrice world championship holders and winners of the title of People's Athlete. She also made a contribution to her school's winning in the National Juvenile Taekwon-Do Championship in 2019. |
