Present at the ceremony were vice-chairpersons of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, officials of the university, graduates and parents of students.

Congratulatory messages from the homeland, including those from the Education Commission of the DPRK and Kim Il Sung University, were read out at the ceremony.

Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, made a congratulatory speech.

He said there are many universities in the world but only the students of Korean university start their hopeful careers along the path of patriotism after enjoying their campus life in a foreign country under the care of the great leaders at their homeland generation after generation.

Noting that Chongryon has launched a struggle for putting its patriotic movement on a new stage of development, true to the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, he called on the graduates to constantly discipline themselves in the current stirring situation of the patriotic movement.

He stressed the need for the graduates to add glory to their university in the struggle for the development of the Korean community in Japan and the prosperity and independent reunification of the country with their professional scientific knowledge, fresh ideas, insight and vigor.

Then letters of commendation from the Education Commission of the DPRK, the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and Korean University were conferred on graduates.

A graduate made an oath-taking speech on behalf of other graduates.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was read out at the ceremony.

Then, an art performance was given by the graduates.
