At the Nampho Welding Rod Factory, he stressed the need to thoroughly carry out the sci-tech development plan for modernizing equipment and increasing the production capacity and to conduct repair and readjustment qualitatively, while putting primary efforts into the management of equipment and technical control.

He learned in detail about production at the Sadong Foundry, where he called for positively introducing advanced methods of experiment and test in order to steadily update technical indexes of castings and increase their output.

The field consultative meetings discussed the ways to positively apply research findings to boosting the productivity and the quality of goods and to perfect the material and technical foundations for putting the production on a normal footing.

The premier also went round the Mirae Industrial Technology Institute of Kim Chaek University of Technology.
