Activities for Conservation of Clean Water Resources Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- Activities for the conservation of clean water resources have been conducted in the DPRK.

According to Kim Jong Chol, an official of the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, this year's work is to enact law and regulations on preventing water pollution and make a survey and appraisal of the actual state of all rivers and the water resources and quality.

As a part of it, embankment, stone-covering, creation of bank-protecting forest, planting turf and other works have been waged in the areas along the main rivers like the Taedong, Amnok, Tuman and Chongchon rivers.

Kim said that the conservation of water resources in the DPRK would be conducive to the realization of sustainable development goal 6 "Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all" set by the U.N.
