Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Chaek University of Technology in the DPRK plays a big role in developing the country's science and education, invigorating the economy and bettering the standard of people's living. The university has made lots of substantial sci-tech achievements to dynamically promote the development of the self-supporting economy. Its successes made in the work to train many people talented in science and technology and attain the cutting edge of science are attributable to the loving care and trust of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un. When visiting the university again in March Juche 108 (2019) following in September 2018, Kim Jong Un stressed the need for the university to fulfill its responsibility and duty as an engine leading the country's science and education and economic construction, noting that it plays a very important role at every major worksite for the socialist economic construction. He emphasized once again the position and importance of the university in building a powerful socialist country and indicated the orientation and ways for the university to follow. In recent years, the university made a signal progress in the work to improve the contents and methods of education suited to the character of the university which puts main stress on the training of creative talents and the creation of the latest science theories and technologies, and promoted the building of an economic giant with valuable scientific findings. Its research group established a new equipment production process for the Korean-style oxygen heat blast furnace, thus contributing to putting the metal industry on a Juche basis. And it opened up a prospect for producing magnesia bricks at will by developing a technology of raising the furnace temperature with anthracite gas and introducing it into refractory kiln of cement factory. Meanwhile, the group made it possible to increase the per-hectare crop yield by manufacturing a device using high-frequency electrical impulse. |
