Kim Tok Hun Inspects Different Units in South and North Hamgyong Provinces

Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, inspected different units in South and North Hamgyong provinces. Looking round units of the key industry sectors including metal, chemical, coal and machine industries in South and North Hamgyong provinces, he took measures to settle the important issues arising in keeping the production going at a high rate and carrying out the plan of readjustment and development with metal and chemical industries as a key link and in carrying out this year's economic tasks, as indicated by the 8th Congress of the WPK and the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK. At the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, the Chongjin Steel Plant, the Hungnam Electrode Factory and the Komdok Mining Complex which hold a very important share in the development of the metal industry of the country, he called for completing the Juche-based system of producing iron technically and expanding its capacity. He also underlined the need to concentrate efforts on producing in time iron and steel needed for building 10,000 flats in Pyongyang City and putting railway on a modern basis as an immediate task. He learned about the major tasks to be fulfilled by major industrial establishments, the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, the Myonggan Chemical Factory, the Ryongsong Machine Complex and the Kyongwon Area Coal-Mining Complex this year to reinforce their foundations for production while revitalizing their present production, and referred to the ways to carry them out. The field consultative meetings took substantial measures after discussing in detail the issues arising in accelerating the economic development of the country by restoring and readjusting the organic nexus between all sectors and units and proactively promoting the work for cementing the self-supporting foundations, as required by the economic strategy set forth at the Party Congress. Meanwhile, the premier went round different areas in Hongwon County, South Hamgyong Province, the Sinpho Canned Fish Factory and the Sinpho Fishery Station. |
