In his concluding speech "On Planting Orchards through an All-people Movement" at the enlarged meeting of the Presidium of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee held in Pukchong County of South Hamgyong Province on April 7, Juche 50 (1961), President Kim Il Sung indicated tasks and ways for enlarging the country's wealth and providing the rising generations with means for a happy life by mobilizing the strength of the people and transforming nature.

Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the land of Pukchong and stressed the need for the officials and working people of the county to always take the lead in developing the country's fruit farming true to the high intention of the President.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un mentioned the principled issues for putting the fruit farming on a new scientific basis and radically increasing the fruit production by thoroughly implementing the Party's policy of scientific fruit farming, in his letter "Let Us Effect a Fresh Turn in Developing Fruit Farming" to the participants in a national meeting of activists in fruit farming.

True to the Party's intention to turn Pukchong County into a leading large fruit producer, the officials and working people of the county turned out as one to build a modern orchard.

Under the goal of planting an orchard of hundreds of hectares by the 100th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, the county launched a strenuous onward campaign by tapping its powerful construction force and potentials.

Thus, for the past thousands of hectares of orchards have been planted and fruit production boosted, with the county turned into a leading fruit producer.
