In this year's spring months for national heritage conservation, works are being conducted across the country to restore tangible and natural heritage damaged in winter and prevent possible damage in summer and the rainy season.

Provincial, city and county people's committees organize and direct a public campaign for taking care of historical sites, scenic spots and natural monuments in their regions.

They pay attention to keeping the historical sites and relics in their original state and preserving the ecological environment of scenic spots.

Kaesong City launched a work to intensively repair the roofs of Taeung Hall and Obaek Hall at Anhwa Temple, a historical site dating back to the Koryo Dynasty, and colorfully paint them again to preserve their original looks. Efforts are also made in the city to repair the roofs of different structures in Mausoleum of King Wang Kon and re-paint over 10 facilities of Ryongthong Temple.

Anbyon County in Kangwon Province take steps to prevent damage to Haksongsan Fort through reinforcement, tree planting and gutter-cleaning while paying attention to the repair of the roof of Ryongchu Temple and the conservation of such historical sites as Kwahak Pavilion, Anbyonupsan Fort and signal-fire posts.
