Work for Developing Catalyst Technology Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- In the DPRK, big efforts are directed to developing the catalyst technology which plays an important role in enhancing the independence of the chemical industry.

Such major chemical industrial establishments as the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex, the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex and the February 8 Vinalon Complex have reinforced the research groups for catalyst technology to make signal progress in developing catalysts.

This year, chemical factories have carried out their monthly plans on all indices including nitrogenous fertilizer, vinyl chloride and caustic soda by introducing newly developed catalysts.

Kim Il Sung University and the Hamhung Branch of the State Academy of Sciences are now stepping up the development and introduction of various catalysts keenly needed for the creation of the C1 chemical industry and the operation of chemical factories.

Meanwhile, steps are taken to intensify the education in catalyst technology at factory colleges in large chemical industrial bases across the country.

The 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea stressed the need to push forward the work of transforming the structure of chemical industry into that of Juche-based industry relying on its own raw materials.
