DPRK Premier Inspects Construction Site of 10 000 Flats in Pyongyang and Central Tree Nursery
Pyongyang, April 10 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected the construction site of 10,000 flats in Pyongyang and the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Urban Management.

Looking around the construction site bustling with the efforts for creating new Pyongyang Speed and working miracles in construction, he underlined the need for officials to enhance their responsibility and role in designing, construction and supervision, understanding that the construction project is an important work for realizing the long-cherished desire of the Party Central Committee to provide the people with more civilized living conditions.

He underlined the need for the metal industry and railway transport field to put efforts into increasing iron and steel production and quickly carrying materials, true to the intention of the Party Central Committee in giving top priority to timely supplying materials and equipment needed for the construction project. He also called for giving precedence to the infrastructure construction in order to keep pace with the accelerated construction.

At the Central Tree Nursery, he mentioned the need to step up the cultivation of saplings of good species for greening with a main emphasis put on upping the scientific and intensive level in sapling production.

The field consultative meetings urged the units involved in the housing project to fully meet the requirements of designs, strictly observe the construction rules and apply rational methods to organizing and guiding the construction, thus successfully carrying out the construction policy of the Party and the state, meeting the demands and interests of the people and thoroughly ensuring architectural security. Also discussed at the meetings were the ways to improve afforestation and greening in Pyongyang City.
