In the period, a radical turn has been made in strengthening and developing the WPK thanks to the unique idea and wise guidance of General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

The General Secretary set forth a task for strengthening the WPK into the eternal Party of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, its founder and builder, in his famous works such as "Let Us Brilliantly Accomplish the Revolutionary Cause of Juche, Holding the Great Comrade Kim Jong Il in High Esteem as the Eternal General Secretary of Our Party" and "The Great Comrade Kim Il Sung Is the Eternal Leader of Our Party and Our People" published in April 2012.

Therefore, ideo-theoretical guidelines were provided to advance the revolutionary cause of Juche in line with the idea and intention of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The General Secretary has energetically guided the work for developing the WPK into the Party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

He convened the 7th and 8th congresses of the WPK and other all-party conferences and took revolutionary steps for strengthening the Party to enhance its fighting efficiency in every way and give full play to the inexhaustible mental power of the popular masses.

He also set forth the slogan "Let the entire Party make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the great people!", an embodiment of Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's noble view on the people, to make the spirit of love and trust in the people prevail in the whole Party.

Indeed, his distinguished and seasoned leadership has served as the motive force whereby the ideological and volitional unity and cohesion of the whole Party were further consolidated and the function of the Party's guidance over the whole society was enhanced in every way and thus a great heyday of the country's prosperity was ushered in on this land.
