They made achievements in researches conducive to the economic development and improvement of the people's standard of living, and made contributions to the education of the rising generations.

Professorship was conferred on 18 intellectuals including O Chon Il, dean of a faculty of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Kum Nam, vice-rector of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Ryong Jin and Jon Mi Yong, teachers of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Tok Su, director of an institute of Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pak Yong Hui, teacher of Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry, Pak Song Nam, researcher of the University of National Economy, and Wi Kwang Nam, section chief of the Academy of Social Sciences.

Doctorate went to 56 persons including Pak Chol Myong, department head of Kim Il Sung University, Mun Chang Hyok and An Ye Gyong, teachers of Kim Chaek University of Technology, Kim Hyok, department head of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, O Hung Son, section chief of Pyongyang University of Architecture, Ji Hak, department head of Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, Hwang Sun Nam, deputy chief engineer of the Chollima Steel Complex, Kim Jong Son, chief engineer of the Tokchon Area Coal-Mining Complex, and Ryom Jong Suk, vice-director of the North Phyongan Provincial People's Hospital.

Also, 113 persons received associate professorship and 733 persons received master's degree.
