The factory with solid material and technical foundation produces many famous Koryo medicines suited to the constitutional peculiarity of the Korean people. In particular, its ryongsinhwan is more efficacious than those produced by other factories.

The development of the factory would have been unthinkable without the guidance of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

When visiting the factory in December Juche 90 (2001), the Chairman learned about its production and gave instructions to manufacture Koryo medicines on an extractive basis.

He again came to the factory seven years later and appreciated the achievements made by the factory in putting the production of taxol on an industrial basis and making Koryo medicines on an extractive basis. And he stressed the need to provide the factory with modern production equipment.

Since then, the factory has raised the quality and quantity of products by reinforcing the production processes with modern extraction and concentration equipment and facilities for producing quality extracts for Koryo medicines and extracting medicinal properties from herbs even at low temperatures.

In recent years, the factory increased the kinds of products by developing medicines efficacious for aging, angiectasis, etc. and made progress in the work to introduce ultrasonic techniques into the process of extracting medical properties from herbs.
