Civilian Defence Revolutionary Museum Opens

Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- The Civilian Defence Revolutionary Museum opened ahead of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. The museum comprehensively deals with the revolutionary history of the peerlessly great men who provided and glorified the sacred history and tradition of building the Juche-based militia forces, and with the militant course of the civilian defence forces which have performed exploits under the guidance of the Party. The revolutionary museum will serve as a powerful educational center for adding eternal glory to the undying exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, the founder and builder of the Juche-oriented civilian forces, and for educating the Party members and other working people in the greatness of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who is ushering in a new history of strengthening the civilian defence forces, and in the Juche-based idea and policy of the Party on civilian defence. An opening ceremony took place on April 13. Attending it were Ri Pyong Chol, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), vice-chairman of the Party Central Military Commission and secretary of the Party Central Committee, O Il Jong and Kang Sun Nam, department directors of the Party Central Committee, officials in the field of civilian defence, commanding officers and members of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards in Pyongyang City, officials of the units and shock brigade members involved in the construction, and employees of the museum. Before the ceremony, the participants made a bow before the portraits of the smiling President and Chairman at the lobby of the museum after laying a floral basket in the name of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards. Ri Pyong Chol made an opening address. At the end of the ceremony, the participants looked round the museum. |
