Attending the ceremony were Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon and director of its Organization Department, and other vice-chairpersons, Han Tong Song, rector of the university, Hong Nam Gi, director of the board of trustees of the university, the freshmen, their parents and the teaching staff of the university.

Congratulatory messages from the homeland, including the one from the Education Commission of the DPRK, were read out at the ceremony.

Han Tong Song made a report, which was followed by oath-taking speeches.
