Pheasants Protected in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- In the DPRK pheasants have been widely propagated for their high ornamental value.

Pheasants add beauty to landscape with their beautiful figures and ecological habit.

They can be seen on Moran Hill in Pyongyang, the capital city of the country, and mountains around the city.

Semi-natural stations were built in different parts of the country to breed pheasants en masse in a scientific method.

Bred pheasants have been set free in mountains every year. North Hwanghae Province put more than 10 000 pheasants in mountains last year.

Meanwhile, a work is encouraged to provide the favorable conditions and ecological environment for pheasants' inhabitation.

As a pure breed, Korean pheasant is the most beautiful among its species living in the earth. This species has been spread to the world via Europe and the American Continent from the mid-19th century.
