National Heritage Conservation Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, April and November every year are the months for taking care of national heritages. In those days, the heritage conservation is conducted on a nationwide scale with involvement of all the people.

This month, all provinces of the country have made signal progress in the work to repair the historical relics and sites and preserve the scenic spots and natural monuments.

Successfully repaired were Great Walls of Koryo (918-1392) in South Hamgyong Provincial section and the walls of Nyongbyoncholong Fort, Thaebaeksan Fort and Jongbangsan Fort, Phungchon Town Fort, Jangyon Earthen Fort and other old castles.

Tens of objects, including the Mausoleum of King Wang Kon, the ancestral father of Koryo, and the Sungyang Confucian Shrine in Kaesong City, the three tombs in Kangso and tomb in Tokhung-ri which are famous mural tombs dating back to Koguryo Kingdom (B.C. 277-A.D. 668) and the Taeungbo Hall at Anguk Temple were repaired and re-painted and many trees were planted around them.

Meanwhile, the sightseeing roads to scenic Yaksandongdae, Mt Paekun and Lake Suphung were mended and trees planted around them to add beauty to their landscape. And repaired were the protective facilities for living monuments like Mayang musk deer and Brachymystax lenok.

The national heritage conversation has been further activated thanks to the high patriotic zeal of the working people.
