In this regard, an official of the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection told KCNA:

A plan for dredging river-beds was carried out at 121 percent in recent one month after the start of the spring period of the general mobilization for land administration. And embankments were filled with nearly 200,000 cubic meters of earth and covered with more than 70,000 square meters of stones.

In Pyongyang City, the dredging was done in various sections of Taedong and Pothong rivers.

Under a detailed plan for making all rivers into standard ones, such projects as lowering river-beds and reinforcing embankments with earth and stones have been pushed forward in Chongchon, Jaeryong and other rivers across the country.
