Concert Commemorates 100th Birth Anniversary of Composer Kim Hyok
Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- A concert was given at the East Pyongyang Grand Theater on April 28 to commemorate the 100th birthday of composer Kim Hyok.

He resigned himself to his fate of being mistreated and despised as a stateless person before the liberation of Korea. He could lead a worthwhile life as a musician under the care of President Kim Il Sung after the liberation of the country.

He produced famous songs symbolic of the era like "We Are the Happiest in the World", a masterpiece representing the era of the Workers' Party and the eternal theme song of socialism, under the loving care and trust of Chairman Kim Jong Il who gave him invaluable teachings for producing famous songs and led his work step by step.

The respected Comrade?Kim Jong Un?made sure that a concert was given to commemorate the musician's 100th birthday.

Put on the stage were his masterpieces.

??Male trio and chorus "My Country" and chorus "March of Socialist Youth Builders" were applauded by the audience. Those songs greatly encouraged the heroic struggle of the Korean people and youth for performing feats at a stirring time when they ushered in the Chollima age under the leadership of the Party.

The concert reached its climax when quartet and chorus "We Are the Happiest in the World" was put on the stage to reflect the boundless reverence for the peerlessly great men.

Among the audience were creators, artistes, teachers and students in the field of arts and his bereaved family members.
