It is an urgent demand of our revolution to put the Korean youth movement onto a new stage of development at present.

The 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea set forth a scientific and development-oriented goal to make our-style of socialism more powerful and rich. The youth movement should properly play a powerful militant role in ushering in a period of a new upsurge and turn of the revolution as indicated by the Party congress. When the enormous might of the large contingent of young people, the most animated unit of the society, is given the fullest play and the youth movement is turned into a powerful driving force for the socialist construction, the ongoing general march for implementing the decisions of the Party congress will be more accelerated.

In the face of manifold ordeals and difficulties, our Party set a bold goal to build a powerful and prosperous socialist country, in which all the people will lead a happy life, in the near future. This grand plan reflects the absolute trust in the inexhaustible might of our young people who lavish all their enthusiasm and wisdom on building a prosperous country, regarding socialism as their soul and life.

The editorial calls upon youths to become performers of exploits and heroes in the historic march for ushering in a period of a new upsurge and turn of the revolution, fluttering the proud banner of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League under the leadership of the respected General Secretary.
