Kumyagang Power Station No. 2 in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- It is a policy of the Workers' Party of Korea to massively build minor hydraulic power stations in the DPRK with abundant water resources.

Its validity and vitality have been clearly proven with lots of hydro-power stations built across the country. One of them is the Kumyagang Power Station No. 2.

The Kumyagang Power Station No. 2 in Kumya County of South Hamgyong Province is attracting public attention as it shares in the benefit by making an effective use of hydraulic resources.

As this station stands close to the Kumyagang Army-People Power Station, a large-sized hydro-power station, it can operate a generator even in the dry season by using the water from the army-people power station and mountain streams.

The power station No. 2, built in Juche 107 (2018) by the county itself, has supplied enough electricity to local industry factories in the township and many units and dwelling houses.

Inhabitants in the county would say that the construction of the power station provided favorable conditions for rice farming in the area by ensuring the appropriate temperature of water.

On May 4, 2019, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un went round the power station, stressing the importance to effectively manage it, a great treasure of the county.
