The presentation under the theme of "Metallurgical industry and automation" was held for the purpose of actively propelling the technical completion of the Juche-based system of making iron and expansion of production capacity by strengthening the creative cooperation among scientists, technologists and producers in the fields of automation and metallurgical industry in the struggle for implementing the decisions of the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK.

Attending it were officials, teachers, researchers, postgraduates and field technologists of 10-odd units including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, the Automation Institute and the Control Machine Institute of the State Academy of Sciences and the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex.

Presented there were more than 130 papers completed in the course of search and creation for further developing the field of automation of the country.

The presentation heard sci-tech successes and deeply discussed the technical methods for solving the problems arising in the field of automation of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and the Chollima Steel Complex.

During the presentation there was a lecture on the latest technology.
