Reinforcement of Electricity Grids Underway in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in the electrical power industry of the DPRK are taking substantial measures to reduce the loss of electricity in transmission and make effective use of electricity.

The Ministry of Electric Power Industry mapped out a step-wise plan for introducing the latest information technology into putting the electricity grids across the country on a scientific basis. Efforts are brisk to carry out the plan amid a dynamic campaign of the units under the ministry for setting an example and following it.

The South Hamgyong Provincial Power Distribution Station has saved a lot of electricity by putting the grids of all cities and counties on a power-saving basis.

Scientific methods based on detailed analysis and simulations of electricity grids in several regions are applied to on-going rearrangement of electricity grids in South Phyongan Province.

The power distribution stations in North Hwanghae Province and Nampho City engage in overhauling equipment of transmitting stations and substations after completing a program for locating electricity facilities and their database.

They also put efforts into studying the methods of calculating and minimizing the electricity loss.
