Fish Farming Gets Popular in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 19 (KCNA) -- Fish farming gets popular across the DPRK.

Kangwon Province and South and North Phyongan provinces distinguish themselves in fish culture by taking advantage of natural and topographical features.

They are breeding cold-water fishes in the outdoor ponds fed by mountain streams and hot-water fishes in the sunny outdoor ponds.

Fish farms in those provinces are remodeled for effective stage-by-stage fish breeding.

In Jagang Province a cage-net fish farm covering an area of over 1,000 square meters was built on the River Chongchon. Catfish, carp and goldfish are bred at the farm.

A spawning station capable of massively breeding different species of fries was built in Yonggwang County, South Hamgyong Province.

The county also mapped out a proper plan for putting fish breeding on a scientific and intensive basis by calculating in detail the feed consumption and production.

The Youth Tudan Breed Fish Farm has made good preparations for breeding carp and other fish fries in a sci-tech way.

Many units benefit from fish breeding.
