Natural History Museum Makes Notable Achievements for Five Years since Opening
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- It is five years since the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave field guidance to the Natural History Museum nearing its completion.

The officials and employees of the museum have made considerable achievements in the efforts to enrich the exhibits with more scientific dimension and intensify the research into the better preservation of samples of various kinds for the past five years.

Animal ecology hall and children's study and experience halls have been newly added to the museum, hopefully to contribute to the cultural and emotional life of people and extracurricular education of schoolchildren.

Lifelike exhibits of tropical flora and fauna in Africa, America and Australia in the animal ecology hall would help visitors get broad knowledge of nature.

The children's study and experience halls 1 and 2?offer visual aid materials from which visitors can acquire the knowledge of the natural environment of the Earth and the peculiarities of living things and also nurture patriotism through quiz, observation and experience.

In addition, a hall for multimedia show has been installed to further increase the effect of exhibits and give more effective education to visitors.

Supplementing of animal and plant samples has been pushed forward.

On display are stuffed specimens of animals and various plant samples made with dried flowers.

Progress has been made in preserving all sorts of the stuffed specimens as how they were when alive.

Researchers have made a breakthrough in preventing damage to samples and are studying to perfect the technique for making specimens.
