Artistic ceramics like ornamental vase are useful to room decoration as they remind one of elaborate art pieces for their beautiful shapes and color.

Vases inlaid with sunflower patterns, peony patterns, apricot blossoms, etc., products of the factory, were registered as national treasures. And over 30 kinds of Koryo celadons produced by it won great popularity at international markets last century.

More than 10 excellent ceramists, including people's artists Im Sa Jun and U Chi Son who made a great contribution to the development of the country's modern ceramic workmanship, acquired their skill while working at the factory for many years.

The factory has also mass-produced such daily-use ceramics as rice and soup bowls and plates to contribute to people's livelihood.

The factory is associated with immortal feats of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Looking round it in May Juche 50 (1961), he indicated the tasks facing the factory, including the issues of making more high-grade ceramics with raw materials abundantly buried in the country and improving the quality of ceramics.

In recent years, the factory turned into an energy- and labor-saving one where a process of ceramic production by high-temperature air-combustion technology was established. Manager Jin Myong told KCNA that the factory set it as a business strategy to make more famous products popular among the people and has striven to carry it into practice.
