Progress Made in Magnesia Industry of DPRK
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- Mines and factories under the General Bureau of the Tanchon Area Mining Industry in the DPRK are now keeping production going at a high rate to implement the first year task for the new five-year plan set forth at the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

To make such progress, they have steadily strengthened their material and technical foundations for production.

The Ryongyang Mine built an automobile parts-producing base with its own technical force to raise the transport capacity to the maximum and developed an electrode for cast iron to smoothly repair cast iron parts for equipment.

The Taehung Youth Hero Mine directed efforts to actively introducing the appropriate blasting methods at its branch mines to systemically increase the ore production, while revitalizing its material production base. It also stepped up the work to repair parts of calcining furnaces and kilns and technically update them so as to lay a foundation for increasing the production of light burned magnesia and high-quality magnesia clinker.

The Tanchon Magnesia Factory and the Paekbawi Mine, too, conducted the repair of kilns and defective pipeline networks of de-dusting system in time and reinforced the equipment of briquette production process to considerably boost the output.

The Tanchon Mining Machine Factory developed a modifying agent with mineral buried in Tanchon and Komdok areas to improve the quality of bucket tooth.
