The short course dealt with practical matters for fully demonstrating the revolutionary spirit of the heroic working class of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il by deeply studying and grasping the essence of the important letter sent by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to the participants in the congress and further enhancing the combat efficiency of trade union organizations in the campaign for carrying out the decisions of the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party.

Ri Il Hwan, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, gave a lecture titled "On making sure that the participants in the congress fulfill their responsibility and duty in the campaign for carrying out the decisions of the 8th Congress of the GFTUK".

He stressed that the important letter sent by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un is the immortal guideline clearly indicating the tasks and ways for developing the trade unions into the vanguard unit opening a period of a new upsurge in socialist construction.

The short course referred to the importance of regarding it as a lifeline to thoroughly establish the unified leadership system of Kim Jong Un within the trade unions and further intensifying the work for doing so.

The lecturer stressed the need to direct all efforts of the trade union work to modeling the whole trade unions on the revolutionary idea of the General Secretary.

He also emphasized the need to absolutize the authority of the Party Central Committee and safeguard it in every way, effectively conduct the work for defending and glorifying the Party's leadership feats, meticulously organize the work for devotedly implementing the Party policies and establish steel-like discipline and order in implementing them.

The short course called for having full readiness to unconditionally implement the decisions of the 8th Congress of the GFTUK with the militant task set forth at the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea as the guideline.

The lecturer said the success in implementing the decisions of the congress entirely depends on the ideological readiness of the participants in the congress who are the hard core of the GFTUK and its leading officials who organize and guide the trade unions' work, being responsible for education of the members.

The lecturer urged the participants to have an ideological viewpoint and stand to have their loyalty to the Party and executive ability verified in practice, being well aware of the fact that the decisions of the congress are an organizational will of the whole trade unions and the objective to be attained by them without fail and that it is the fundamental guarantee for defending and glorifying the Party's leadership feats to implement the decisions of the congress.

The course stressed the need for all the participants in the congress to thoroughly implement the tasks set forth in the historic letter so as to bring about a change through dynamic labor efforts on all fronts of socialist construction.

The participants visited several places of Pyongyang before and after the congress.

They watched a performance of the Workers' Art Group of the Central Committee of the GFTUK and a film, and conducted colorful political and cultural activities.
