This modern hospital was built on the initiative of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

In May Juche 105 (2016), Kim Jong Un visited the hospital under construction and gave precious teachings that it should be built into a people's hospital embodying the Workers' Party of Korea's policy of giving priority to the people and respecting and loving them.

Though he was busy guiding the overall affairs of the Party and the state, he frequently learned about the construction of the hospital and took steps to provide the up-to-date equipment and facilities and various fixtures needed for its operation and material and technical means for its glasses shop. Going round the completed hospital in October that year, he said with pleasure that one of his ardent wishes for the people has come true.

A large number of people have recovered their sight after getting advanced treatment free of charge at this multi-functional and comprehensive medical service center.

An old man living in Kangso District of Nampho City noted that he could come to see his beloved family members and friends in a few years after recovering his sight through treatment at this hospital's cataract department.

A woman from Taehongdan County of Ryanggang Province, who recovered her sight after scores of years, said with excitement that she burst into tears of gratitude for Kim Jong Un who spares nothing for the people.
