Kaesong Koryo Insam, a specialty of the DPRK, is well known to the world for its high medicinal effect. The name of Kaesong Koryo Insam was derived from the fact that insam looking like a man's figure had been cultivated on the basis of traditional method in Kaesong, the capital city of Koryo (918-1392).

From long ago, the Korean people have used it in curing diseases and taking care of health and, in the course, lots of stories about it were created.

Contained in the new book are more than 40 legends of Kaesong Koryo Insam. The book will be helpful to getting a better understanding of the origin, cultivation and medicinal effect of Kaesong Koryo Insam.
