Breeding High-Productive Fish in Full Swing
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- A brisk nationwide work is underway to breed and multiply delicious and nutritious fish of new species that grow fast with less food intake and are highly resistant to diseases.

The Central Fish Farming Institute of the Academy of Fishery Science is making full-scale research to crossbreed carp with Ryongjong fish based on the success gained in breeding fish of new species from carp and goldfish last year.

It is also sending good strains of fish to fish farms around the country.

Production units in the fish farming sector are also pushing ahead with breeding new species of fish by their own efforts.

Sunchon and Pyongyang catfish farms have made some progress in breeding highly productive catfish by closely cooperating with scientists and researchers of the State Academy of Sciences.
