Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong
Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- On Jujak Peak of Mt Taesong in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, there is the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery.

It tells about the noble world of moral obligation shown by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il to glorify the life of the revolutionary forerunners who dedicated their all to the Party and the leader, the country and the people.

The cemetery was built in October Juche 64 (1975), the 30th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea, on the initiative of the President and under his detailed guidance.

True to the noble intention of the President, the Chairman made sure that the cemetery was reconstructed on an extension basis more magnificently.

He visited the cemetery under reconstruction in June 1984 and took a step to make the busts of the martyrs with bronze, examining their samples. Later, he came to the reconstruction site over and over to give teachings that a large gold star medal should be carved in relief on the pedestal for placing floral tributes so that everyone can know all the anti-Japanese revolutionary martyrs are heroes. And he said that the rear of the cemetery should be decorated peculiarly with a fluttering red flag.

He gave detailed teachings that a monument inscribed with the President's handwriting and his august name should be built and sculptural groups well depicted.

Thanks to his noble obligation for the revolutionary martyrs, the cemetery was wonderfully reconstructed in October 1985.
