New Species of Ornamental Flowers Bred in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Floriculture Institute of the DPRK recently bred ten new species of flowers, amid the brisk work for cultivating many flowering plants of high ornamental value in streets, villages, parks and pleasure grounds across the country.

Those new flowering plants, which are easy to cultivate and grow well, were registered as the state garden plant species and, they are now being distributed widely to floriculture units.

The new flower species have strong resistance to cold, moisture and diseases and their blooming periods and breeding coefficients are long and high.

Among them are Dianthus caryophyllus "Red", Chrysanthemum muticaule "Yellow", Pelargonium peltatum "Beach", Vinca rosea "Red", Lilium hybridium "yelloween", Chrysanthemum morifolium "Wimbledon" and Notocactus scopa "Ruberrima".
