Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- Recorded in the DPRK's history is the Chollima age, in which all the people had wrought miracles and feats, helping and leading each other forward under the slogan "One for all and all for one!". Many literary and art works were created at that time in reflection of the people's noble mental world. Among them is a feature film "The Spinner" produced in Juche 52 (1963), which shows through the growth process of a heroine how the Korean people, once subjected to humiliation and hard toil, could grow into the masters of a new society. In the film, the heroine, bereaved of her parents in childhood and separated with her younger sister, had to experience hard labor for a petty amount of money. It was after Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule (August 15, 1945) that she could lead a worthwhile and dignified life. She had devotedly worked as a spinner to repay the benevolence of President Kim Il Sung who liberated the usurped country and provided her with a happy life. She carried out the two-year (1949-1950) national economic plan ahead of schedule and over-fulfilled the wartime production plan as a head of workteam while taking active part in the work for assistance to the front during the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953). After the war, the heroine made innovation in the production, holding the kindle of a multi-spindle, multi-loom tending movement. In the days of making uninterrupted innovations and progress in the Chollima spirit, she remodeled backward persons and trained a large number of skilled workers. And she grew into a winner of the title of DPRK Labor Hero, a deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly and a manager of the mill. Such literary and art works created in the Chollima age as the film have stirred up the people to live and struggle like the preceding generations. |
