Fish Farming Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 23 (KCNA) -- Fish farming has got brisk in different parts of the DPRK.

Cage-net fish farming is intensified in rivers and lakes.

In recent years, Pyongyang City built more mobile cage-net fish farms in the Taedong, Pothong and other rivers, thus laying a foundation for increased fish production and adding beauty to landscape.

In Nampho City, not only fishery units but also industrial establishments displayed mobile cage-net fish farms in a big way to breed silver carp, Ryongjong fish, carp and other fish strains.

The same is true of North Hamgyong and Jagang provinces.

Wonsan City of Kangwon Province built a fish farm at the end of last year to produce tasty fishes like rainbow trout and char by using waste water from electricity production at the Wonsan Youth Power Station built in tiers.

Meanwhile, farm villages in lowlands like Sukchon County of South Phyongan Province have introduced a paddy-field fish breeding to raise the fertility of soil and the crop yield as well as fish production while saving fertilizer and agrochemicals.
