Koreans in Japan Protest against Japanese Authorities' Discrimination against Korean Schools
Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Koreans in different parts of Japan launched actions to disclose the injustice of the Japanese authorities' discrimination against the Korean schools and have the issue of aiding the schools settled.

Koreans in Japan formed the organizations for supporting the Korean schools across Japan. They disclose and denounce the Japanese authorities' discrimination against the Korean schools, deepening solidarity with Japanese citizens.

An organization supporting the Korean schools in Hiroshima Prefecture held a press conference in Hiroshima City on June 21, where it urged the relevant Japanese court authorities to make a fair judgment on the issue of aiding the Korean schools.

On July 19, 2017 the Hiroshima District Court dismissed a lawsuit Koreans in Japan filed against the Japanese government, claiming damages for its exclusion of Korean schools from the tuition-free program for senior high schools.

Angered by it, Koreans in Japan have waged a campaign in the city, in cooperation with solidarity organizations, to urge the Japanese government, the authorities of Hiroshima Prefecture and the city to apply the tuition-free program for senior high schools to Korean schools in Japan and resume the provision of subsidies for them.

At the press conference, the organization accused the Japanese authorities of persisting in discrimination against the Korean schools.

It urged the supreme court of Japan to make a fair and correct judgment on the issue of supporting the Korean schools.

On the same day those concerned with the Korean schools and Koreans in Japan went to the supreme court to submit a signed document urging immediate application of the tuition-free program for senior high schools to Korean schools.
