History of Workers' Party of Korea
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The Society for Rallying Comrades (SRC), formed by President Kim Il Sung on July 3, Juche 19 (1930), the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, was the first party organization that came into being in Korea under a new policy for founding a revolutionary party.

On October 17, 1926, the President organized the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) to train a large number of communists of new generation. And he set forth a new party founding policy at the historic Kalun Meeting (June 30-July 2, 1930), a policy that a party should be founded by means of forming its grassroots organizations and steadily expanding them, not by means of declaring its central committee.

Under his guidance, the young communists in Korea laid a foundation for building a new-type revolutionary party organization through the revolutionary struggle of several years.

Basing himself on the guiding idea, leading nucleus and mass foundation provided to found a party organization, he formed the SRC, the first party organization of Juche type. Reflected in its name was his high ambition and revolutionary will to advance and accomplish the Korean revolution by rallying comrades in the same boat.

The SRC was the embryo and seed of the Workers' Party of Korea and the parent body of its basic organizations.
