After embarking on the road of revolution in his early years, the President had always found himself among the people and led the revolution and construction to victory in reliance on them.

He kept it as an iron rule to fully reflect the people's demand, interests and desire in every line and policy whenever they were adopted.

It can be clearly proven by the fact that a new history of tending plants per cluster was made in the country.

In May Juche 63 (1974), the President visited a cooperative farm in South Hwanghae Province and expressed his satisfaction over the fact that the farm raised the yield of corn by increasing the number of its plants per phyong (about 3.3㎡). He visited the farm again which had a bumper crop in autumn that year and acquainted himself with the number of corn plants per phyong and counted the number of plants per hectare. Then, he confirmed that the increased number of plants per hectare made it possible to have good results in corn farming.

At the national agricultural conference held early in January next year, he called for conducting a drive to plant more corn throughout the country.
