Violin Manufacturer with Hypacusia
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- Among the violin manufacturers in the DPRK is a person with hypacusia. He is Kim Sung Il, a worker of the Korean Art Association of the Disabled (KAAD).

In recent years, Kim was awarded technical prize and top prize of science and technology at the 9th and 10th Pyongyang Musical Instruments Exhibitions, drawing attention of the participants.

In this regard, his father Kim Yong Gil told KCNA:

My son's remarkable development makes me feel more keenly gratitude to the socialist system in our country.

When he was old enough to go to school, the state supplied to him the same new school uniform and things as other children's without any distinction.

After graduating from middle school, he became an art group member of the KAAD and performed on stage as a dancer. And he entered the Vocational School for Disabled Persons to learn skills to the full.

At that time, the KAAD was making preparations to manufacture violins. The association enrolled my son in its violin manufacturing group, taking into consideration his hand skill and desire. It taught him how to play a violin and sincerely helped him feel ear through vibration that is set up when managing the fiddlestick.

Thanks to the efforts of the association members, Kim Sung Il could acquire the ability to feel and distinguish all ears through vibration and make the violin wonderfully on this basis.
