Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- The DPRK-China friendship grows stronger on the road of socialism, leading newspapers Sunday say in articles dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the conclusion of the DPRK-China Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. President Kim Il Sung signed the treaty with Premier Zhou Enlai on July 11, Juche 50 (1961), providing a firm legal guarantee for permanently developing the DPRK-China relations of cooperation and friendship that were forged in the hard-fought struggle for independence and socialism against imperialism. Rodong Sinmun says in an editorial that the treaty has greatly contributed to propelling socialist construction in the two countries, developing the cooperative and friendly relations between the two peoples and defending peace and security of Asia and the world over the past 60 years. It goes on: The leaders of the elder generations of the two countries nurtured the traditional DPRK-China friendship to be an all-weather and unbreakable one through the struggle to advance the revolution and construction and foil the moves of the hostile forces against socialism and peace. The immortal achievements made by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il to develop friendship and unity between the two peoples are now shining thanks to the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un. Thanks to the close personal relations between Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China, the friendly relations between the DPRK and China steadily develop even under the complicated international situation. It is the firm stand of our Party and government to continue to dynamically develop the DPRK-China friendly relations with socialism as its core. The paper stresses that the long-standing and traditional friendship between the DPRK and China will continue to grow stronger under the deep interest and direct guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries. Minju Joson says in an article that the invincible DPRK-China friendship forged in blood will last forever and the governments and peoples of the two countries will nurture the beautiful garden of the bilateral friendship decade after decade. |
