At least 10,000 youths have volunteered to work at metal, coal and other key industrial sectors of the national economy, farms and schools or branch schools in remote mountain villages and islands across the country since the 8th WPK Congress. To devote their youthful days to the sacred struggle for the country's prosperity and the people's happiness is a proud tradition of the Korean youths that has been invariably carried forward decade by decade and through generations. All the edifices in the country are associated with the traces of loyalty and feats of the youths. Among them are the Haeju-Hasong broad-gauge railway section the project of which was finished in a matter of 75 days, the Youth Hero Motorway built during the Arduous March, the forced march and the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station where a legendary tale about the heroic youth was created. It is the features of the Korean youths with a noble mental world to devotedly work for their comrades and for the society and collective, helping and leading each other forward. They do not hesitate to become mothers for orphans, teachers at branch schools on islands and schools in mountain villages and the life partners of disabled soldiers. The young people of the DPRK are striving to achieve a new victory of socialist construction at the worksites of great upsurge for implementing the new five-year plan for national economic development set forth by the 8th WPK Congress. |
